The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has urged residents in the State to make themselves available for the ongoing registration exercise which would aid planning in the state.
The Governor gave this urge at the sensitization programme on Oyo State citizens registration exercise held at Atiba Hall, Oyo.
The registration exercise which was flagged off by the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on the 17th of May, 2022, would avail residents in the State the opportunity to be adequately catered for using the acquired data.
In his remarks, Governor Makinde, who highlighted the importance of the registration, noted that the exercise was not only for Oyo state indigenes but for every resident in the State.
The Governor who was represented by his Special Assistant on ICT and e-governance, Mr. Bayo Akande, further stated that the exercise would help allocate enough resources to all the 33 local government areas of the State.
While addressing the participants, the Director of Information Technology, Engineer Raheemat Adabanija, noted that the registration exercise would help address the issue of insecurity in the state through the use of identification numbers created for residents from the age of 10 upward.
The event was graced by royal fathers, representatives of local government chairmen and various associations.
