BREAKING: INEC SAYS LESS THAN 1.4M NIGERIANS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN 2023

As the 2023 general elections draw nearer, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that only 1,390,519 Nigerians are eligible to vote in the elections.

The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who said this on Wednesday in Abuja at a media conference, said 45 percent of total registered voters in the country are invalid.

According to him, only 1,390,519 Nigerians have valid permanent voters card (PVCs) across the country.

He also said that only 10 of the 18 registered political parties have notified the commission of their primaries.
