Kaduna State Governor, Mr Nasir El-Rufai has said the way Bandits and Boko Haram Terrorists operate is different from
that of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Nnamdi Kanu.
Speaking to BBC Pidgin, Governor El-Rufai stated that Bandits are not calling for the break-up of Nigeria but are just carrying out their activities as a form of business; unlike IPOB which is led by Nnamdi Kanu, the Governor noted that Bandits have no centralized leadership.
He said he was very happy when Nnamdi Kanu was arrested because he jumped bail and jeopardised his sureties.
The Governor also noted that Kanu challenged the sovereignty and the authority of the Nation, incited violence, and even referred to his own Country as a Zoo.
Governor El Rufai said this should be a message to all Separatists challenging the authority of the Nigerian State to be very careful.
Asked if Boko Haram and Bandits should be treated with the same swiftness that led to Kanu’s arrest, Governor El-Rufai said an emphatic no, saying people are comparing Apples to Oranges.
