The Bishop of Ibadan Anglican Diocese, The Most Revd. Joseph Akinfenwa has described Engr Mrs. Makinde as a God-fearing and intelligent woman, who has been so supportive to her husband’s success.
Bishop Akinfenwa said this while giving the sermon at the 50th birthday thanksgiving service of the Wife of the State Governor, held at the Cathedral of St. Peters, Aremo, Ibadan.
According to him, one of the best assets a politician can be proud of is a loyal wife.
The Anglican Bishop said it is important for every living soul to be more focused on the purpose of being alive and serve the Lord according to the Holy Scripture.
The Clergy who commended Governor Seyi Makinde for doing the needful for the people of the State also used the occasion to call on the Federal Government to find lasting solutions to the insecurity problem in the Country.
The Programme had in attendance, the former Governor of the State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, and his wife, Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja, other well-wishers, some members of the State Executive, and political appointees, among whom was the Executive Chairman of BCOS, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
Engr Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, in company of her family members, later proceeded to Cheshire Home, Ijokodo, Ibadan, where she identified with the people living with disabilities.
In her address, the highly delighted celebrant appreciated God and her family on the journey so far; adding that her visit to the less privileged home was a dream come true.
The event featured the cutting of birthday cake, and presentation of consumable and unconsumable items to the physically challenged, while they reciprocated with a birthday card.
