1932 heralded broadcasting into Nigeria. The core of broadcasting has remained in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. The pacesetter’s glory continues through the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) which is domiciled in Ibadan.
The TV arm of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) was established in 1982 during the era of Governor Bola Ige. Over the years, BCOS has attained the position of a pacesetter and a leader in the history of broadcasting in Nigeria with many people from various walks of life with incredible careers who have passed through BCOS at some point.
The 40th anniversary is an iconic and symbolic event with different events slated for between June 17 and June 23, 2022. Amongst which are: Anniversary Lecture, Staff Awards and Gala.
