The BCOS TV at 40 Beauty Pageant culminated in a ceremonial splendour with Miss Blessing Olakanla, a 21-year-old undergraduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye emerging as the winner of the contest.
Blessing Olakanla was crowned Miss BCOS TV by the Wife of the Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde who was represented by a Director in the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs Eunice Odebunmi.
With her emergence, Miss Blessing Olakanla has won a million Naira worth study scholarship to her choice institution in Cyprus, sponsored by Online Dynamix.
The 21-year-old is also to embark on a tour to Maldives along with the first and second runners up, all expenses paid, courtesy of Online Dynamix.
In addition to the prizes above, Miss Olakanla who is a cosmetogist and makeover artist has been provided with 500,000 Naira worth cosmetics and skin care treatment.
Speaking on her win, she promised to use her position as Miss BCOStv to represent the Corporation creditably.
The Executive chairman, BCOS, Prince Dotun Oyelade, while addressing guests at the event, commended all members of staff of BCOS for their steadfastness and commitment to the growth of the station.
A Co-Chairperson of the BCOS TV at 40 Committee, Mrs Opeyemi Orimolade said the event was organised to showcase beauty and talents.
A total of seven contestants vied for the position of the Miss BCOStv; they were tagged after the departments of the Corporation namely Miss News, Miss Admin, Miss Commercial, Miss Programmes, Miss Research, Miss Engineering, and Miss Finance and supplies.
Miss Research, Blessing Olakanla claimed the 1st prize; Miss Admin, Similoluwa Williams emerged 2nd runner up and Miss Engineering, Ayomide Shittu emerged 1st runner up.
The judges include Bosede Sadiq, who is the Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Broadcast, Tope Ayefele, wife of the renowned Gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele and Charles Alade.
The contest was sponsored by Online Dynamix, Academy Suites, Dr Mrs Bolade Omisande, Sheriff, Brent Supermarkets, Bite More, Solat Telecomunications, Omotoyosi Makeover, Alhaja Oyinbo Onigele and Ace Fabrics.
