Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has lifted the ban on religious gathering in the state.
The Governor made the announcement on Wednesday at a stakeholder meeting held with traditional rulers, religious leaders and security agencies held at the Banquet Hall, Command Guest House in Bauchi, the state capital.
According to the Governor, the lifting of the ban for religious gathering will last for an initial period of two weeks which would be reviewed after the expiration of the two weeks.
He further urged religious leaders and their followers to adhere to the conditions and guidelines outlined for public gatherings.
He listed the conditions to include compulsory use of face masks by members, provision of hand sanitiser and running water as well as observing physical distancing at the worship centres.
The ban on religious gatherings was initially imposed in April in a bid to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the state.
