Assault On Journalist: IPC Applauds Prompt Intervention Of Lagos Environment Commissioner

The International Press Centre, IPC, has applauded the effort of Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Hon. According to a statement by the Program Officer/ Safety Alert Officer of IPC, Ms Melody Lawal, on Thursday, February 4, 2021, the Centre particularly appreciated the apology tendered to the concerned Journalist by the State Government; also welcoming the pledge by the Commissioner to thoroughly investigate the incident.

According to the statement, the Executive Director of IPC, Mr Lanre Arogundade said: “The position of Hon. Bello as contained in the press release issued on his behalf by Mr Kunle Adeshina, Director (Public Affairs) MOE&WR, that there would be thorough investigation, tallies with our demand that justice must be done in this matter and we are okay with it”.
