 Armed Forces Remembrance Day:  Makinde Promises More Support For Families Of Fallen Heroes

The Oyo State Governor, Engr.  Seyi Makinde, has said his government will continue to support the families of fallen and departed heroes for their ultimate price paid towards securing their fatherland.

The Governor made this known while performing the ceremonial function and Inspection of Guard of Honour for the 2020 Armed forces Remembrance Day.

Governor’s office Correspondent Olamiposi Ishola  reports that Governor  Makinde members of the State Executive Council, security chiefs, religious and community leaders  all honoured the fallen heroes of Nigeria at the Grand Finale/Laying of Wreaths.

Governor Seyi Makinde in a chat with journalists said that the fallen heroes of Nigeria will always be remembered and their death will never be in vain.

Other activities performed by Governor Makinde and other Top official Include Laying of Wreaths and Release of Ceremonial Pigeons.

It would be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde had earlier donated 3 million naira to  the Ex- Servicemen, their children and  loved ones.

The Armed forces Remembrance Day Celebration is an annual event nationwide on 15 January.

As in the past years, all Nigerians are called upon to assist in providing materials needed for the surviving relatives of the slain soldiers and contribute towards the maintenance and rehabilitation of those who have been permanently incapacitated, Physically and psychologically.
