 Amotekun: Over 47,000 Apply For 2,000 Jobs In Oyo

Oyo State will continue to set the pace among others States of the Federation when its Amotekun Security outfit fully commences operation.

The Oyo State Chairman of Amotekun Security outfit, General Kunle Togun (Rtd), said this on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, during the Commencement of the Amotekun screen exercise held at Lekan Salami Sports Complex Adamasingba Ibadan.

Staff reporter Olalekan Sulaiman who covered the screening exercise reports that the screening exercise was conducted by some selected members of Security Agencies in the State, such as Police, Civil Defense Corps, among others.

According to the Chairman, Amotekun Security Outfit in the State, General Kunle Togun Rtd, over forty seven thousand applicants applied for the job online, while about eleven thousand candidates successfully submitted their online application accordingly.

Despite this shortcoming, the Agency decided to screen all those that applied in order to give everyone a level playing ground.

The Amotekun Chairman who said the State is not in a hurry to put round pegs in round holes, gave an assurance that when fully operational, the people of the State would soon go to sleep with their two eyes closed.

According to the Organisers, the State has been divided into 7 Zones for the screening exercise, they are Ibadan City, Ibadan less City, Ibarapa, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Oke Ogun 1, and Oke Ogun 2.

It would be recalled that the South-West Governors launched Amotekun in Ibadan early in the year 2020, to complement the efforts of the Police and other Security Agencies to curb crimes like kidnappings, robbery, and banditry, among others.
