A veteran Labour, Comrade Olu Abiala and the Oyo State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Comrade Emmanuel Ogundiran have given a pass mark to Gov Seyi Makinde for efforts made so far by his administration at curtailing the spread of COVID-19 in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
The two labour leaders gave this commendation in Ibadan, the state capital while featuring on today’s edition of the BCOS Radio Network Current Affairs daily programme Oro To Nlo.
Comrade Olu Abiala in his contributions said the efforts made so far by the Oyo State Government in curtailing the spread of COVID-19 in Oyo State through the establishments of emergency Operating Centres as well as a Task Force on the deadly disease headed by the Governor himself and many other indicated it is done to the safety of the people.
In his remark on the live radio programme, the TUC Chairman, Comrade Ogundiran who also praised the state government for various steps taken so far at curtailing the spread of COVID-19 in the state especially the recent two weeks holiday declared for the civil servants and closing of all schools in the state pointed out that the efforts would go a long way in curtailing the spread of the disease in the state.
The two Labour Leaders further called on the State Government to shut all land borders in order to stop entry into the state from neighbouring states in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.
