The Oyo State Government in conjunction with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief materials to 392 victims of the rainstorm disaster that occurred in Otu in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area of the State in June, 2020.
The State Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan in his message at the event said the State Government is committed to the safety of lives and property of every citizen.
The Deputy Governor who was represented his Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters, Alhaji Lateef Yusuf, said the State Government assessed the magnitude of the Disaster to ascertain how best to help the victims, hence, the distribution of relief materials.
Engineer further said the State Government is working with the Local Governments areas to establish Local Emergency Committees for rapid intervention in times of emergency.
He enjoined members of the public to desist from practices that can enhance disaster risk such as clogging
