Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and ten other aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 gubernatorial elections in three Southwest states, namely; Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos States on Thursday, presented themselves for screening before a Committee set up by the Party.
BCOS correspondent reported that the seven-man screening committee led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, held the screening at the Southwest PDP secretariat, Old Bodija, Ibadan.
The other aspirant from Oyo State who came for the screening was Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi; while the aspirants from Ogun State were Segun Sowunmi, Jimi Lawal, and Oladipupo Adebutu.
The six aspirants from Lagos State included David Kolawole, Shamsudeen Dosumu, Jimi Karmal, AbdulAzeez Adediran, Adedeji Doherty, and Rhodes Gbadebo.
Speaking with newsmen on the exercise, Senator Makarfi said the aspirants must comply 100 percent with the PDP guidelines and the electoral act.
Senator Ahmed Makarfi, however, urged electoral stakeholders in the country to create a level playing field for all candidates in next year’s general elections to ensure that the wish of Nigerians prevails.
