Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to a presidential aspirant and former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, who is on trial for alleged ₦2.9 billion corruption charges.
The Judge gave the order on Tuesday while ruling on the bail application filed by Okorocha.
He was granted bail in the sum of ₦500 million and a surety in the same amount.
The Senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly was barred from traveling out of the country, except with the express permission of the court.
The Judge also added that Immigration must be alerted that Okorocha’s passport is with the court and must not be allowed to move out of the country.
He was accused of conspiring with others, including a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and five companies to steal from public coffers.
