Following the death of former Senator Isiaka Adeleke, the Independence Electoral Commission (INEC), has fixed July 8, 2017 for a by-election. The Osun – West Senatorial District has been without a Senator since the sudden death of Isiaka Adeleke which has generated lots of controversy amongst the people of the State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it would on Wednessday disclose its decison on political associations seeking to be registered as political parties. Chairman of the Commission,Professor Mahmood Yakubu disclosed this to review INEC's Communication policy in Abuja.

56 year old pastor Ibukun Adeyinka of the Christ Apostolic Church, Sanctuary of Blessing, in the IjuIshaga area of Lagos State, has reportedly stabbed to death by some unknown persons at the church premises on May 30th. The deceased lived with his wife and children inside the church premises.

The Presidency has condemned the National Judicial Council (NJC) for reinstating six judges suspended on the allegations of corruption.

The Special Adviser to the President on Prosecutions, Okoi Obono-Obla, in an interview on Monday with one of the nations’ commercial TV, expressed dissatisfaction with the NJC on the reinstatement of the judges.
