Oyo Govt Identifies 1,000 Illegal Structures For Demolition

Oyo State Government has identified about 1000 illegal structures along river bank in the state that would be demolished in due course.

The Director General of the Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control in Oyo state, Alhaji Waheed Gbadamosi stated this during a ministerial press briefing held at the film unit of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

Alhaji Gbadamosi said the present administration in the state would not allow any illegal structures in the sate either along the water channels or on the plane land.

He said the project also focuse on the production of the Ibadan Master Plan to ensure the proper plan of Ibadan city while the Ibadan drainage master plan will take into consideration water channelization of the city.

In his contribution, the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun advocates a proper control on conversion of residential building for commercial purposes stressing that such practice would increase human and vehicular pressure on the areas.
