Pay Your Tax, LIRS Tells Falz

‘La Fete’ rapper, Falz The BAHD Guy, seems to have found himself in possession of some court papers. The rapper whose legal name is Folarin Falana is not only the son of one Nigeria’s most reputable lawyer, Femi Falana, but is also a lawyer in his own right.

The musician shared an image of the letter on his social media account. The letter, which was sent to the musician from Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), is a notice to the ‘Falz Experience’ host to come and pay his 2017 income tax.

The rapper shared the image on his Snapchat page with the caption: ‘LIRS won’t let someone even start the year well before sending letter, Na WA o.’

After the successful year that the musician had in 2017, it should come as no surprise that Lagos state would want some piece of the ‘cake’. Falz had a year full of milestones in 2017 as he released his third studio album, ‘27’, and hosted his very first headline concert, ‘The Falz Experience’, at Eko Convention Centre. Both Falz’s album and concert were met with much praise and acclaim from critics and fans alike.

Falz’s debut concert was one of the biggest shows of the year not only because it was Falz’s first go at hosting such a gig, but also because it allegedly cost N300 million to produce the show.

From the lush stage production to the number of A-list Nigerian musicians present at the show such as Olamide, Simi, Yemi Alade, Reminisce, Davido and Reekado Banks, it is easy to see why ‘The Falz Experience’ was served with such a heavy bill.

The comedian, actor, and rapper should have no problem paying LIRS as he filled the venue of The Falz Experience and is set to host yet another concert in London in April.
